Privacy Policy
This policy covers boringdollars.xyz, the marketing website of BoringDollars Technology. It is a static site: there are no user accounts, no analytics, and no tracking cookies. This page explains the little data that does move, and why.
1. Who we are
BoringDollars Technology (“BoringDollars”, “we”, “us”) operates this website and is the controller of any personal data described below. Our registered address is available on request by writing to hello@boringdollars.com.
2. What we collect
Information you send us
The contact form on this site does not transmit anything to a server of ours. Submitting it opens a draft in your own email client, addressed to hello@boringdollars.com. Nothing reaches us until you choose to press send in your own mail application.
When you do email us, we receive what you put in the message — typically your name, email address, employer and whatever you wrote. We use it to answer you and, if a conversation follows, to keep track of it. We do not sell it, rent it, or add it to a marketing list without you asking to be on one.
Information collected automatically
This site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, referrer — in order to serve the page, defend against attacks and abuse, and keep the service available. We do not run analytics, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
3. Third parties who process data on our behalf
We keep this list short deliberately, and it is complete as of the effective date above.
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN and security for this site. Processes request metadata as described above.
- Google Fonts — the site loads two typefaces from Google’s font servers. Doing so discloses your IP address and user agent to Google as part of the request. It sets no cookie. If you would rather it did not happen, a content blocker or a browser configured to block third-party requests will stop it; the site remains fully readable in a fallback typeface.
- Amazon Web Services — email sent to our boringdollars.com address is received and stored through AWS in the US East (N. Virginia) region.
We do not use advertising networks, session recording, heatmaps, A/B testing tools, chat widgets, or social tracking pixels on this site.
4. Cookies
We set no cookies of our own. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie (__cf_bm) to distinguish automated traffic from human visitors; it is used for security, expires within about half an hour, and is not used to track you across sites.
5. Legal basis for processing
Where data protection law such as the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, we rely on: legitimate interests for keeping the site online, secure and available, and for replying to business enquiries you send us; and consent, which you give by choosing to send us an email, for the content of that correspondence.
6. How long we keep things
Correspondence is kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards for business records, then deleted. Server and security logs are held by Cloudflare on their standard retention schedule, which is short. If you ask us to delete your correspondence, we will, unless we are required to keep it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your data protection regulator. Write to hello@boringdollars.com and we will deal with it. We do not charge for this, and we will not make it difficult.
We do not make automated decisions about visitors to this website, and we do not use your data to train models.
8. Our products are separate
This policy covers this website only. Prago and Marking are separate products with their own terms and privacy documentation, which govern any data processed inside those services. Reading about them here does not put you into either one.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change how this site handles data, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. There is no version history to hunt through; the page you are reading is the current one.
10. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy: hello@boringdollars.com. A person reads it.
